Wednesday Workspace: Creating a Theme

After a relaxing ten days, it's time to be back in production mode for my upcoming events. One is Stroke Art Fair, considered one of the largest urban art fair in Europe. To be honest, I'm still flabbergasted I got invited to participate. I am truly lucky to have been meeting the right people along my journey. If you are reading this, thank you!

Doing the art fair is making me think about presenting a body of work that is consistent. To me, even when I sell at markets, the main idea is always about being able to present my current body of work. I would like to have a body of work that reflects my current perspective. Also, I'm a fickle person with lots of weird ideas waiting to be materialised. I have been using crochet to express my style and in time I would like include other mediums, so theming my work will be helpful in creating discourse.

So this upcoming art fair, my theme is The Geeky, The Ridiculous, The Quirky and The Weird.

So here are some in my line up. There is more, but needing time to materialise. See my elephant flying patch. My friend Oraber, who is one of the best linocut artists in the world, did it. I LOVE his stuff, they are usually very fantastic and surreal, which is so my style.

Some more geek stuff, well, you know who you are if you get the brand of the beer!

I was recently inspired by Lego blocks, and thus the old flame is rekindled.

When you have nice light, you can't resist taking many photos of the same stuff!

So, the theme this time is very simple and emcompasses most of the work I have been doing. The most important thing for me is that I have fun, my viewers have fun and understand better the work I do, and I hope they want to continue to see what kind of crazy stuff I come up with.

Wanna see what other creatives are up to? Head this way!
